Kasma
     Latin / Fusion / Pop

Kasma is a music group that blends the indigenous (latin-american, afroamerican and flamenco rythms) with a contemporary sound leaded by the violinist and composer ERNESTO J. ESPINOZA (CHILE, 1972) Born in Chile and raised in Canada, Ernesto began his musical studies at the age of nine. Ernesto was classically trained although he also took an interest in Scottish fiddling, studying with fiddle greats such as Alistair Fraser and Buddy McMaster at their fiddling camp in Santa Rosa, California. Living most of his youth in Vancouver, he has performed with various youth orchestras and ensembles touring throughout Canada, the U.S and Spain. Establishing himself in Toronto in 1990, Ernesto jumped into T.O's music scene with numerous bands of various styles (rock, r&b, jazz, heavy metal, Andean folk, salsa, and flamenco), performing, arranging and recordings. Composition being his strength, he therefore produced his first cd with "CASMA" (Más que un cafe), he has also composed music for film, theatre and documentaries. Now living in Spain, Ernesto's unique style has been a door that has opened and has stimulated his vision for many musical projects.
