My full name is ‘José Luis Rafael González
Escribano’, but my family and friends have always called me ‘Luis’, colleagues and
students call me ‘Escribano’, and I’m afraid I myself have rather
inconsistently signed as ‘José Luis González
Escribano’, ‘J. L. González Escribano’, ‘J. Luis G.
Escribano’ or just ‘J. L. G. Escribano’ in different papers until journal
editors started warning me I should be more careful about my own identity. My
apologies for any inconvenience that may cause these days; at the time, such
details did not seem to me important.
