align="justify"><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">La fecha de inicio de actividades de la Federación de Béisbol y Sófbol del Principado de Asturias la datamos en el año de 1972 dado que en el mismo se celebró en Oviedo una fase sector del Campeonato de España Cadetes. </FONT></DIV><P align="justify"><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><FONT size="2">Durante unos años se ralentizó la actividad y en el año 1974 el Club Junior de Gijón organizó un campeonato en el que invitó a participar a varios grupos de practicante de béisbol que había en Oviedo, Avilés y Noreña</FONT></FONT></P><P align="justify"><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><FONT size="2">En el año 1975 dicho club agrupó a todos los beisbolistas interesados en la práctica organizada del béisbol en su seno, creando una estructura de monitores y dirigentes y llevando a participar a su club en el Campeonato de España Cadetes en Madrid.</FONT></FONT></P><P align="justify"><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><FONT size="2">Durante los siguientes años fue cuna de todas las actividades concernientes al béisbol, disputando campeonatos de cadetes, juveniles y senior.</FONT></FONT></P><P align="justify"><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><FONT size="2">A finales del año 1977 se celebraron las primeras elecciones democráticas a Presidente de la Federación Asturiana, saliendo elegido Jorge Tuya Amenedo, el cual con la ayuda de su equipo directivo inició la expansión del béisbol creando equipos en la Fundación Revillagigedo, Universidad Laboral de Gijón al tiempo que del Junior se disgregó un grupo de deportistas de Oviedo que fundó en Club San Lázaro el cual al igual que el Junior persisten hasta la fecha.</FONT></FONT></P><P align="justify"><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><FONT size="2">A raíz de ese momento se potenció enormemente el desarrollo de la actividad con la formación de monitores, entrenadores, árbitros y anotadores que conformaron una base sólida para su expansión.</FONT></FONT></P><P align="justify"><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><FONT size="2">A finales del año 1979 se empezó a practicar el sófbol lo cual coadyuvó al conocimiento global de la Federación.</FONT></FONT></P><P align="justify"><FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><FONT size="2">Posteriormente nuevos dirigentes ocuparon la Presidencia como Alejandro A. Tuya, Ramón Corbato, Javier Menéndez, Roberto Díaz, José E.
