Casa la Cuesta is an authentic mid nineteenth-century Asturian rural house, which has been painstakingly renovated to preserve its traditional Asturian architectural features. It comprises 3 double bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a living room with a fireplace, a fully-equipped kitchen, a large informal dining/games room, and a reading area with a wide selection of books. It also has an enclosed garden area suitable for children to play in and an outside barbecue.. Easy parking is available under an "hórreo" (a traditional raised grain store, the undisputable emblem of the Asturian rural landscape). The interior and furnishings of the house have been chosen with the aim of capturing the everyday life of the inhabitants of this rural region. Original features of the house include its supporting walls of natural stone and its roof supported on chestnut wood beams. |
