Because of its magnificent location, Casa La Cuesta offers visitors the opportunity to participate in a wide range of different leisure activities. Activities available in the immediate vicinity include cycling, trekking, mountain trails, as well as visits to the many places of cultural and historical interest. You can also experience the rural life of the area more directly by participating in everyday farm activities such as cider-making, agriculture, hand milking (and milk tasting), and fruit harvesting - not to mention having your photo taken with our very own asturcones (native Asturian horses).
The proximity of the house to Oviedo means visitors can take full advantage of the city's gastronomic delights, and can also explore its most outstanding streets and monuments - including the famous pre-Romanesque buildings that make up el prerromanico asturiano, the architectural jewels of the Asturias region - all with the benefit of a professional guide.
For golf enthusiasts, the municipal golf links of las Caldas are only 4 km away.
If trekking or cycling are your preference, we suggest la Senda del Oso (the Bear Trail), a hiking/cycling trail that allows you to experience the mountainous Asturian countryside and also to enjoy an up-close encounter with our local brown bears Paca and Tola in their natural habitat (and learn a little more about the life of the brown bear).
For cultural visits, there are a number of possibilities: the prehistoric caves of la Lluera, the Castillo de Priorio (Castle of Priorio), the Romanesque churches of Sograndio and San Juan Bautista - and of course the famous prerromanico asturiano.
And finally, no-one should leave here without visiting the Picos de Europa or the beautiful Asturian coastline, nor should they miss the natural springs in Spa of Las Caldas.
