La Galana is placed in Nestar, a small village of 40 inhabitants only 6 km away from Aguilar de Campoo, right in the middle of the Palencian Mountains. Aguilar is a famous town, not only for their well known biscuit factories, but mainly for its incomparable historical and natural surroundings: in fact, here is the highest concentration of romanesque monuments in all Europe, also prehistoric, roman and medieval ruins of all kind, and a beautiful landscape full of oakwoods, hills and curious forms .
Aguilar de Campoo is on the RENFE railway line connecting the coastal city of Santander with Madrid, passing through the city of Palencia. There is also a bus station in town, with daily connections to the cities of Santander, Bilbao, Leon, Burgos and Madrid (including daily routes between Aguilar de Campoo and Nestar) .
A ccess by road is by motorway A-67 (N-611) between the cities of Santander and Palencia, or by road N-627 from Burgos; from any of these, take an exit to Aguilar de Campoo. Once there, take the road leading to Barruelo, and only 6 km away from Aguilar you´ll find the small village of NESTAR . It is here, next to the village´s church (San Martin de Tours, 18th century), where you´ll find a short way to the left, and only a few metres away you´ll be able to see the main entrance to La Galana.
